What does “Authentication failed” or “Login unsuccessful” mean?

This message means your login went through, but your email and password didn’t match any active account.

Try this first

  • Double-check that you’re using the same email address you used when you signed up (no extra spaces, correct spelling).

  • Re-type your password manually (avoid copying/pasting hidden characters).

  • Confirm you’re logging into the correct portal (Learner Portal vs. other Umuzi tools).

If it still fails

  • If you’re a first-time user, you may need to set up your account first (use the “Set up your account” action on the login card).

  • If you recently changed your password, make sure you’re using the new password.
